About NEW GHO
So, What is New Gho?
New Gho is a project representing holistic aesthetics of the late-capitalist, post-industrial (lost) generation. While the focus is on True Cost Design graphics, faux-fine art, web design, concept development, net-art, experimental alterna-marketing, post-photography, artificial -logo design, mock-product and packaging design, and other abusrd categories, it has also been reported that fingers were dipped in the conception of furniture, fashion, murals, print making, architectural explorations, visual media and other varieties of aesthetic experimentation. The resulting mish mash of visual overload and generalist tendencies is what is required of our time and this project is meant to deliberately reflect this.
Basically, I'm here to create things, be honest as possible, and make this all pleasingly offensive to tastemakers, while evoking the curious.
What are you about? Whats your "misson"?
The concept of New Gho falls in alignment with the current shift in thought we are witnessing in contemporary culture. New Gho represents the collaboration between junk flux culture and high design, blurred combinations of post-industrial pastiche utilizing a process of reinvention through product adaptation, faux-branding and deliberate commodification into visual treatments. Since art is philosophically 'dead', what better way to say it than picking through the remnants of found cardboard, salvaged skateboards, dumped paint, expired film, pieced fashion from used textiles, the use and reuse of recycled paper, and the appropriation of "high culture" within false pretense. Tools and other object transformations are some of the few example results that are documented in this portfolio, while also displaying the use of "higher", "utopian" digital arts and design as playing an integral role in an increasingly materialistically-confused world.
Selected works of various medias (and mediums) in multiple dimensions, are complied. This project serves as a multiplicitious, rhizomatic piece itself, and can be understood from multiple holistic standpoints, even down to the institutionalized notion of the 'portfolio'.
This project is perpetually updated so you can expect something new will always be on the horizon. This site, and anything I design or create through the New gho "label" was designed as a simplistic platform to record, highlight and present a spectrum of creative projects and design work which has served as outlets and tools of exploration, if not as a symbol of creative reuse and the remnants of a slowly decaying, (however yet revisionist) capitalist culture.
